Project info
Gitane is a vibrant addition to Jan Pieter Heijestraat in Amsterdam, offering a dynamic dining experience spread across its ground floor, mezzanine, and bar areas. The strategically placed bar creates a flow between spaces, while the vertically connected mezzanine enhances the restaurant’s spatial dynamics. Once the kitchen doors close, Gitane transforms into a relaxed wine and cocktail bar.
Central to Gitane’s charm is our creation of the eye-catching terrazzo bar, which is built in a unique zigzag pattern that serves as the focal point of the venue. Complementing this centerpiece are our bespoke contributions to the restaurant, including the inviting wooden vestibule with colored glass, and custom-made long benches crafted from a blend of wood and terrazzo.
Additionally, we created unique plastered wall finishes that provide a backdrop for the restaurant’s lively atmosphere. And last but not least, small tables that are thoughtfully integrated into the mezzanine’s fence further maximize the space. Together, all these elements contribute to a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy both exceptional cuisine and memorable social gatherings.
